The Role

As a Freelance Technical Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in the success of large-scale projects, ensuring they’re delivered to the highest standard. Key responsibilities include:

• Project Leadership: Lead the technical delivery of immersive projects from concept to installation, ensuring smooth progress at every stage.
• Team & Resource Management: Coordinate internal and external technical teams, keeping budgets and schedules on track while maintaining top-tier quality.
• Quality Control: Oversee all technical elements, from software to hardware, ensuring flawless execution and integration.
• Problem-Solving: Address technical challenges throughout development, production, and installation phases.
• Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to ensure technical solutions meet and exceed expectations.
• Creative & Technical Collaboration: Work closely with Designers and Creative Directors to align technical solutions with creative goals.
• Technology Integration: Apply advanced tools and techniques, including AR/VR and projection mapping, to bring ambitious concepts to life.

About You

We’re looking for a Technical Director with strong AV expertise and a proven track record of delivering exceptional results in immersive projects. Ideal candidates will have:

• Significant experience leading large-scale technical projects in immersive environments, including interactive installations, AR/VR, and projection mapping.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple complex projects while meeting deadlines and budgets.
• A knack for turning creative concepts into practical technical solutions without compromising artistic vision.
• Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges during project delivery.
• Experience leading technical teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with technical teams, creatives, and clients alike.
