A growing digital team is looking for a Senior Unity-WebGL Engineer to take a leading role in the development of a new platform designed for business use. The platform allows users to create and publish interactive experiences, and this role will play a key part in shaping its functionality, performance, and long-term direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the WebGL component of the platform, from architecture through to implementation.
  • Integrate Unity-based features into a WebGL environment, with a focus on performance and stability across devices.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to build and maintain scalable cloud services (preferably using AWS).
  • Develop internal tooling to support content publishing, infrastructure monitoring, and platform reliability.
  • Work alongside Unity designers, frontend engineers (React), and product stakeholders to deliver accessible user-facing features.
  • Contribute to sprint planning, mentor junior developers, and provide input into technical direction.
  • Investigate and resolve performance issues, especially in high-traffic deployments.
  • Drive improvements in codebase quality, reliability, and maintainability.

Candidate Profile

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in full stack development with a strong command of JavaScript and a working knowledge of Unity/C#.
  • At least 3 years’ experience delivering production-ready WebGL applications (e.g. Three.js, Babylon.js).
  • Experience contributing to platform or product development rather than project-based or one-off builds.
  • Proficiency with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, including monitoring and alerting best practices.
  • Strong understanding of frontend development (ideally React), with a focus on enabling non-technical users.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced environments where priorities shift and decisions must be made quickly.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as part of a remote team.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience working Unity productions / platforms.
  • Familiarity with XR SDKs such as ARKit, ARCore, or Vuforia.
  • Understanding of network communication and server setup.
  • Experience mentoring developers or contributing to technical strategy.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary
  • Equity options
  • Flexible working hours
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities
  • Company events
  • Remote-first working environment
