AV System Designer / Solution Architect

We're recruiting for a creative technology company that builds immersive environments for museums, visitor attractions, and live events. With 15+ years delivering projects globally, they've created award-winning installations for glboal Museums, and major brands.

Recent projects include a 360-degree projection environment for a Middle Eastern museum and an interactive brand experience that toured five continents.

They're hiring a Senior System Designer / Solution Architect because they've just secured three major museum contracts for 2025/26 and promoted their previous senior designer to Technical Director. This growth means they need someone who can design complex AV systems from scratch and help deliver their expanding project pipeline.

The AV System Designer / Solution Architect role:

You'll design the technical architecture for projects ranging from interactive museum exhibitions to projection mapping installations and corporate experience centres. As their System Designer / Solution Architect, you'll be responsible for:

• Creating system schematics and hardware layouts in AutoCAD
• Running site surveys to determine what's technically feasible in each space
• Specifying equipment, cabling runs, and integration points
• Ensuring designs work within budget and timeline constraints
• Supporting the sales team with technical proposals

• Learning budget – £2,500 annual training allowance plus paid time for courses. Recent team members have done Dante certification, AVIXA CTS, and disguise training.
• Project ownership – You'll see projects through from initial concept to final handover. Your name goes on the project credits, and you'll build a portfolio of work that's publicly visible.

What makes a strong System Designer / Solution Architect candidate:

• 5+ years designing AV systems (not just operating them)
• Solid AutoCAD skills – you'll be producing technical drawings daily
• Experience with projection systems, LED walls, interactive displays, audio systems
• Ability to translate creative concepts into buildable solutions
• Understanding of IT infrastructure as it relates to AV (networks, control systems)
