Art Director / Creative Lead
Permanent | Middlesex | £45,000 - £55,000 Per Year | Job No: 2000
Art Director / Creative Lead
London | Full-time | Remote with on-site meetings in London every fortnight
This Art Director / Creative Lead role is for designers who want their work to exist in the real world. Not just on screens. Not just in decks that never get built. Actual, physical experiences that audiences walk through, touch, and remember.
The Studio
A 25-year-old immersive experience studio with offices in London and Dubai. The work spans theme park dark rides, interactive museum installations, whisky distillery experiences, large-scale projection mapping events, brand activations, and cultural attractions.
The client list includes names you'd recognise immediately. The projects get built. The budgets are real.
The Art Director / Creative Lead Role
You'll shape how audiences experience brands and stories across physical spaces, digital interfaces, and everything in between. That means:
- Developing visual concepts and design systems that work across projection-mapped environments, interactive touchpoints, and print
- Creating pitch decks and presentations that win work (not just document it)
- Collaborating with experience designers, technologists, and producers from concept through to delivery
- Balancing creative ambition with the realities of budgets, timelines, and what's technically possible
The Right Art Director / Creative Lead
You're a designer at heart who happens to be strategic. Your visual instincts are sharp, but you understand that great experiential work requires more than good taste.
You can move between brand guidelines and spatial design, between detailed UI and big environmental moments.
You're comfortable with Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Keynote. After Effects is a bonus. GenAI tools like Midjourney are part of your workflow, not a threat to it.
You've probably worked at studios like Imagination, Monks, Unit9, R/GA, AKQA, Territory, or similar. Or a smaller studio where you had a broad range of duties. Either way, you understand what it takes to get ambitious creative work over the line.
Most importantly, you're easy to work with and are calm under pressure. Generous with ideas. More interested in the work being great than in being right.
Why This Art Director / Creative Lead Role
The studio is a lean setup, and you won't be a small cog. Your creative decisions will directly shape experiences seen by millions of people across four continents.
The team is small, collaborative, and genuinely kind. The work is varied enough that you won't get bored. And the projects actually get made!
