The Virtual Production/System Engineer Technician Role:
Owing to an increase in new project activity, they're looking to appoint a Virtual Production Technician/System Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in bringing ambitious projects to life. You’ll be hands-on with the latest in video systems, ensuring state-of-the-art setups are perfectly integrated and ready to shine in any production environment. From LED walls to complex projection systems, your expertise will be the key to making everything run seamlessly.
Key Virtual Production Technician/System Engineer Duties

Craft and Refine Systems: Collaborate closely with clients and production teams to understand project goals. Design and fine-tune systems that meet specific needs, ensuring they’re perfectly aligned with the vision of each production.

Build and Manage Systems: Create and configure custom video playback and distribution systems. Ensure that every frame of video looks stunning, whether displayed on an LED wall or projected across a stage.

Lead On-Site Installations: Take charge of installing and integrating virtual production systems on-site, ensuring that every element is set up for success—whether the project is small or on a grand scale.

Ensure Signal Integration: Work alongside production teams to make sure all video signals are correctly integrated and configured, maintaining a flawless workflow from start to finish.

Improve Through Feedback: After each project, provide insights to continually refine and improve system designs, keeping the company at the forefront of virtual production technology.
- Innovate with R&D: Collaborate with R&D teams to explore and implement new technologies, ensuring the company stays ahead of the curve in this fast-evolving field.

Virtual Production Technician/System Engineer Skills Required

Deep Video Systems Knowledge: Proven experience in video processing, screen management, and signal distribution within production environments.

Networking Expertise: Strong understanding of managed networking environments and fibre distribution, with experience applying them in virtual production setups.

Media Server Skills: Proficiency in setting up and configuring media server platforms like Disguise or Pixera, ensuring seamless operations.

Camera Systems Savvy: Familiarity with broadcast, film, and TV camera systems, including setup and integration with virtual production environments.

Problem-Solving Mastery: Excellent troubleshooting skills in resolving issues within complex, integrated systems, particularly under the pressure of live production.

Industry Insight: Knowledgeable about visual effects, broadcast engineering workflows, and tools like Vectorworks and real-time platforms such as Unreal Engine.
