Lead Game Designer
£40k-55k, dependent on experience
We are currently working with a game development studio based in West Yorkshire who specialise in delivering high quality standards for AAA titles across a variety of platforms. They have partnered with globally renowned studios to ensure their games are taking full advantage of new gaming technologies, in addition to producing their own titles!
They are actively hiring for a Lead Game Designer to join their well-established design team to execute the full design of their upcoming titles. You will be working on a variety of game concepts for the PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch platforms so hands-on experience in designing for these platforms is essential. They also have a few top-secret titles they are currently working on for the PS5 and Xbox Series X!
You will have the opportunity to create the vision of their upcoming games ensuring they are of a AAA style and quality. You will also be working on a number of VR projects and retro-style titles. Due to your passion for game creation, you will find it easy to communicate with others about all aspects of the design, ensuring all team members from other departments will understand and visualise your concept. As the Lead Game Designer, you will also be responsible for defining the game vision, aims of the project, creation and design direction, overseeing all design-related documentation (the whole team need to be on the same page!), as well as mentoring the designers to encourage career development and training.
Ideally, you will have several years of experience in the games industry. During your career so far, you will have seen your design become a successfully shipped title twice before, whilst mentoring other designers on your team.
In return for your skills, they will offer you the ability to further develop your career and skillset through regular appraisals with your line manager. They will encourage you to work on a variety of games that truly take advantage of the latest technologies. You will be given the option to eventually work remotely 50% of the time, in addition to a competitive salary which will reflect your skills and experience.
If you are an experienced Game Designer and are looking for the next step in your gaming career, then this is your ideal opportunity.
